Abstract

The paper aims to reveal specificity of the mythological world model in M. Kabirov’s literary anti-utopia “Китап (The Book)”. To achieve this objective, the researcher analyses historical prerequisites for the utopia genre formation in the Tatar literature, reveals its peculiarities, provides a structural analysis of the mythological world model, identifies its basic components. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that for the first time in the Tatar literary criticism, Kabirov’s novel is analysed from the viewpoint of mytho-poetics, as a means to create the author’s myth. As a result, it is proved that Kabirov’s anti-utopia is based on the eschatological myth which manifests itself in the story and in the figurative system, acquires the author’s interpretation.
