Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the influence of possible distortions of electrode system of tripole mass analyzer on its analytical characteristics. The influence of electrode shifts on the operating parameters of tripole mass analyzer and a comparison with monopole mass analyzer are considered. As a result of numerical simulation, it was found that any deviation from the symmetry of electrode system of tripole mass analyzer significantly affects its analytical characteristics. Symmetrical shifts of «tripole» electrodes in comparison with monopole lead to a greater deterioration in analytical characteristics.
