Abstract
The paper presents the results of the study of the probable scenario of geomechanical processes during double flooding of a mine developing steeply declining gold veins of low thickness. Analytical calculations, field measurements and finite-element modelling have been carried out. Unfavourable geomechanical factors, which may increase the probability of dangerous ground surface shifts and collapses, are determined. Linear and angular parameters of the zone of harmful effect of mining works, the level of displacement in the neighbourhood of mine workings were calculated. Natural and anthropogenic stresses at the mine before and after mothballing were assessed. The level of rock displacements in the zone of influence of mining works was established.
