Abstract
The purpose of the article is to give a brief analytical review of the main crises and risks, to consider the features of their manifestation on the path of economic development in the post-Soviet period of modern Russia. The article was written based on the use of information sources on this problem presented in the open press and on the Internet. Based on the results of an analytical review of the Russian crises that occurred in 1998, 2008, 2014 and the unfolding modern crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, an assessment of the causes, factors, consequences and characteristics of each of them is carried out. The article devotes a certain place to risks, the growth of which signals a worsening of the situation and the dynamics of the country’s socio-economic development as harbingers of the onset of crisis events. Particular attention is paid to digital risks and their varieties – cyber risks due to the large- scale use of foreign information platforms. Ways are proposed for their limited application based on the creation of scientifically based legal norms, taking into account the emerging digital environment on the basis of the accumulated technological and intellectual potential of domestic developments of digital technologies and proprietary information platforms.
