Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the components of the triumphal success of the musical “Notre-Dame de Paris” by R. Cocciante and L. Plamondon. The author considers these components as a complex of new genre qualities of the musical, which are actively taking shape in the space of global culture. These include the symbolic connection of the main theme with the cultural memory, the style mix as a principle of organizing musical material, reliance on the “star” cast with polystylistics of performance styles, the multicultural combination of creative forces, and the latest decorative, scenographic, choreographic solutions.
