Abstract

The paper aims to prove that sacredness is a meaningful category of the biblical text represented at different language levels. The author provides a linguistic analysis of the key religious concept “sacredness”, identifies its categorial status within the biblical text, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. The findings justify the thesis that sacredness is a meaningful category of the biblical text; the conducted research broadens theoretical understanding of the categorial structure of the sacred speech pieces. The sacredness category plane of content comprises two types of sacral knowledge, and plane of expression - multi-level linguistic means.
