Abstract

The paper aims to reveal the author’s image in the Japanese reincarnation fantasy - the literary genre of the early 2010s that originated as web novels and achieved high popularity in the Japanese mass culture. Frame components of literary works and their basic conventions are considered taking into account the author’s image representation. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that analysing frame components and conventions, the researcher highlights the image of an anonymous author of the modern Japanese fantasy. The research findings are as follows: specificity of the author’s image representation in the Japanese reincarnation fantasy is revealed. The identified peculiarities represent the tendency for self-identification both at the national and personal levels.
