Abstract

The left heart performs a circulatory function in which containing oxygen blood moves from the Left Atrium (LA) to the Left Ventricle (LV) and is delivered to the human body. Analysis of LA and LV flow can be Indicators of abnormal heart. Numerical analysis was performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to analyze changes in velocity and flow patterns. As a result, the velocity of the Pulmonary Vein (PV) increased as diastolic progressed, but the movement of blood flow in the LA was lower than that of the systolic blood flow. Also, as the systolic progressed, the velocity of Aortic Valve (AV) and Mitral Valve (MV) increased, showing that the movement of blood flow in the LV increased. In this paper, we propose a standard indicators for a normal heart by analyzing the characteristics of velocity and flow patterns through a heart model implemented close to the human heart.
