Abstract

Results of studies of the effect of the inhibitory effects of laser radiation of a certain wavelength on cyanobacteria in reservoirs arc presented. The world experience in this area is analyzed, as well as experimental studies of the influence of laser radiation on the photosynthetic apparatus of cyanobacteria of the genus Microcystis. The possible mechanisms of the inhibitory effects of laser radiation on the vital functions of cyanobacteria based on the results of fluorescence analysis of cyanobacteria extracts are considered. The results indicate the effectiveness of the use of a green laser for the inactivation of cyanobacteria. Conducting further studies will allow in the future to develop the technology of remote laser control of flowering cyanobacteria.
