Abstract

Manipulation of public opinion is the most famous and at the same time, one of the most effective means of waging information wars. The article discusses the technologies for manipulating public consciousness on the example of the information war against former US President Donald Trump. Information attacks against the ex-president of the United States during his presidency, being a means of information warfare, were carried out by discrediting various ways of exercising power, including human resources and control over them, strength, believes, a set of norms and rules. A review of examples from the media shows that each informational attack is aimed at one or more ways of exercising power and is based on an imaginary or real informational occasion. The ultimate goal of such attacks is to create an actual image and certain ideas about an individual in power, aimed at reducing the political rating of the victim of information attacks.
