Abstract

The article deals with the content of the concepts “семья / family”, “дом / house” and their lexical representation in the Altai Russian epic. It is confirmed that the Altai epic poetry does not undergo the influence of the folk art of the Turkic-Mongolian peoples of Siberia and continues the plot of the all-Russian folklore. The authors try to conduct a retrospective analysis of the problem, where epic texts are interpreted by the precedent phenomena that reflect the linguistic worldview in the historical context. Peripheral and central attributes of the concepts are identified, their lexical and semantic marking in the Altai folk takes is described. Inheriting the poetic style of the Russian folk art, the Altai Russian epic avoids the frequent explicit nomination of the words “семья / family”, “дом / house”. “Семья / Family” is often marked by the designation of family members and relationships between them. Family and marital relations in folk tales represent kinship more often than marital relations. “Дом / House” is often nominated by synonymous lexemes, fixing the axiological assessment of the subjects who own the dwelling. The semantic core of the concepts, which are approved as the main constant of the Russian culture, is considered.
