Abstract

The article examines the exegetic principles of God’s nomination in classical ancient languages in the context of the biblical canon formation. The author proposes the linguo-culturological analysis of the religious interpretations of different translations of God Yahweh’s name in the biblical studies and liturgic theology. Within the framework of onomatological discourse, the author tackles the problems of God’s nomination in the Jewish-Christian tradition, in particular, in the historical context of the biblical canon formation. The paper provides the hermeneutic analysis of the linguistic principles of God’s nomination in the context of the Bible translations into the ancient and modern European languages.
