Abstract

The study presents a sociological analysis of youth activism under pandemic conditions. New projects and practices of the development and transfor-mation of urban space in a current situation have replaced traditional activities as a mechanism for realization of the right to the city. The research is focused on the posts/comments of users/audience of urban information sites and publics on social networks. The conducted analysis of the content shows that local practices of the youth in a large city mainly include DIY initiatives, street art, as well as group vocal and dance projects. The present study defines socially approved/socially condemned activi-ties, and individual/group ones. At the same time, most of the actions and interactions of young citi-zens are aimed at helping and supporting others, as well as at disease prevention. Collective actions (“balcony concerts”) serve to rally residents and form a local territorial identity.
