Abstract

Currently, we are witnessing significant changes in the business landscape of almost all sectors of the economy, primarily related to digital transformation, pandemic and sanctions. Despite the fact that the hospitality industry has demonstrated high flexibility and adaptability, these changes have a significant impact on the HoReCa labor market, as they directly affect the volume and structure of tourist flows. Under these conditions, the assessment of employment and labor satisfaction of the economically active population employed in the industry becomes an urgent problem of the service sector. In this regard, the object of this study is the labor market of the hospitality industry. The purpose of this research is to assess the current state and trends in the development of the labor market in the hospitality industry. To realize this goal, the main indicators of the tourism and hospitality industry development in the Russian Federation were analyzed, including the dynamics of the number of employees in the industry; the need for employees to fill vacant jobs; the ratio of the number of resumes to the number of vacancies in the market; the growth rate of the number of vacancies in the professional field of "Tourism, hotels, restaurants". As a result of this research the main problems and trends of the labor market development in the hospitality industry were identified. On the basis of the identified problems, solutions have been developed to reduce the level of turnover in the industry, mitigate the impact of seasonality on the movement of labor resources and improve their professional competencies. The obtained results can be used as a basis for the development of specific measures for the formation of internal personnel reserve of the industry. The results of the study can be used to regulate the labor market of the hospitality industry.
