Abstract

The article discusses the principles of music functioning in the different-genre film interpretations (animated cinema, mystical black-and-white drama, large-scale epic drama, modern cinema interpretation in the genre of theatrical production) of William Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth”. The specificity of constructing their musical dramaturgy is studied (mono-dramaturgy, principle of sonata form, features of opera drama, etc.) in the context of artistic intention and various interpretations of the literary source by the writers of screen versions. The author reveals the features of the disclosure of the main characters’ images with the help of musical drama.
