Abstract

The article deals with the preschoolers’ speech competence development in the learning process to make stories on the pictures. Children’s art activity comprises all their life experiences, including sensual, value-based, moral, aesthetic, cognitive, labor etc. The peculiarity of children’s acquaintance with the works of painting is the development of children’s imagination and artistic creativity. The modern technique recommends reproductions using of art paintings as a means of speech, mental and aesthetic education. Senior preschoolers’ teaching to make stories based on general methodological principles: the relationship of sensory, children’s mental and linguistic development; stimulation of speech activity, variation of content, forms and methods of training; providing emotional saturation of the learning process; awareness of language phenomena in children; training modeled on the actions of the preschool teacher, using a plan, a partial example-understudy, drawing up a plan of the story. The main condition for the preschoolers’ (coherent) speech development is the professional competence of the preschool teacher. So, it is the complex of mental activity where analysis, synthesis, comparison, inference take place. The results of the study showed positive quantitative and qualitative changes in the children's language in the development of the language competence of the subjects. Thus, an important task for the formation of the language competence of preschoolers is to acquire the ability to independently compose narratives for the works of painting and is a complex mental activity that requires the participation of all mental processes. Based on the analysis of the content of the picture, children determine the main and secondary, establish causal relationships, argue their own vision, adopt linguistic constructions and formulate conclusions. The storytelling is based mainly on visual material, primarily on paintings, illustrations, through which knowledge is enriched, imaginative thinking and speech develops.
