Abstract

The paper deals with current requirements to the engineering university graduates including crosscultural competency for business communication in English. Teaching English at the engineering university, as a rule, is limited to developing grammar skills and learning professional vocabulary. Alongside with these skills, the author substantiates the necessity for students’ familiarization with differences between the British and American English, and proposes approaches to corresponding teaching techniques.
