Abstract

Pipes and valves used in heat exchangers and power plants are exposed to high temperature and high pressure environments. Therefore if crack occurs, it may cause environmental pollution or fire. So that, the importance of early diagnosis and lifetime management is expanding. In this paper, studied on pipe and valve facility monitoring and early diagnosis system. The vibration and acoustic emission signals were obtained by using pipe which is a part of the heat exchanger, and characteristics of the signals were extracted from unlike analysis method with previous frequency analysis. In order to analyze the characteristics of pipe cracking and valve opening or closing, extracted features were selected using GA and PCA, SVM was used to classify features and evaluate classification performance. According to the results, feature classification was confirmed. Therefore, pipe cracks and valve opening/closing can be diagnosed early by analyzing characteristics of vibration and acoustic emission signals.
