Abstract

Introduction. Competition, social instability, increasing unemployment grows in the modern world which, on the one hand, create non-adaptive forms of socialization of people, determine the decline in viability, but on the other, they raise demands on the competitiveness of the individual, in particular, in professional activity. In the context of professional activity, the viability and competitiveness of a person was investigated by a number of foreign and national scientists.Purpose. Social and psychological aspects of viability as the basis of competitiveness in professional activity have been analyzed in the article.Methods. Research methods such as theoretical analysis of literature and generalization method have been used.Results. Competitiveness in the context of organization, group and personality has been considered.Originality. National and foreign intelligence of viability as the basis of competitiveness in the context of professional activity, which is investigated on three levels: organizational, group and individual have been analysed. At the organizational level it is considered from the position of organizational perspective, the conditions and resource constituents of the existence of viable organizations have been highlighted. The group level of viability research considers the group's viability as a dynamic, psychosocial process that protects it from the potentially negative effects of stress that arises in group activities. An individual level of research considers the viability of a professional activity as having a certain level of knowledge, skills and experience; as a special condition of a person, his\her life and professional experience; as a potential personality; as a personal characteristic; as a personal quality.Conclusion. It is determined that different authors, studying the quality, conditions, tasks and components of vitality in the professional field, study it at three different levels - organizations, groups and specialist; for the study of viability the importance of the ratio of the resource components of the work (factors of protection) and their lack of these functions (risk factors).The prospects for the study are the empirical study of the complementary components of viability and competitiveness of the individual in the process of professional activity.
