Abstract

Purpose: This study seeks to theoretically explore ways to strengthen educational cooperation between schools and regions focusing on the curriculum. Method: Differences in educational perspectives inside and outside of schools and solutions centered on curriculum are examined through literature analysis. Results: There are differences in educational perspectives between schools and regions, school-centered curriculum exclusivity and regional alienation, insufficient curriculum communication due to discussions on leadership, and differences between universal education and regional-specific education. To narrow this, curriculum-centered education is needed. Efforts are needed to communicate inside and outside the school, develop a local curriculum in which schools and regions participate, collaborate with schools and regions to interpret core competencies and achievement standards, and incorporate community resources into a curriculum that meets these. Conclusion: For meaningful educational linkage and cooperation inside and outside of school, efforts are required to activate curriculum-centered communication, cooperatively interpret achievement standards, and effectively achieve them.
