Abstract
The article reviews the dependence of results of identifi cation on expert's actions at the pre-trial investigation stage provided that a person has altered the appearance. The author analyzes cases that require provision of information on medical interventions in the appearance of an investigated person and their further complications as well as involving specialists from other spheres of scientifi c knowledge. The paper describes requirements for samples for comparative studies including the need to refl ect unchanged elements of the appearance. The publication emphasizes that interaction between an expert and the examination initiator produces a positive eff ect on the effi ciency.
