Abstract

The article provides a comparative analysis of procedural phraseological units in the modern Russian-language and English-language fiction. A seme analysis (description of categorial and sub-categorial semes) and a structural analysis of phraseological units are conducted, their positive and negative connotation is considered. The conclusions are made about differences and similarities of stable units in the languages under study. The differences are explained from the viewpoint of specificity of national mentality.
