Abstract

The need to search new instruments for career management of intellectual assets for the purpose of increasing their motivation and involvement into the process of constant improvement stipulates urgency of studying modern foreign approaches to manage the career of company personnel. European, American, Japanese models are based on managing motivation and career of employees by horizontal and vertical rotation. According to the result of comparative analysis of career routes of research and educational stuff of the universities of the USA, France, Australia and Japan, it can be inferred that the trajectory of career development of research and educational personnel is characterized by slow rise, stages of promotion in universities of different countries have some coincidences. Learning basic principles of ‘lean manufacturing’ and analysis of career routes of research and educational stuff in foreign universities helped to obtain possibility of their use for stipulating process of developing careers of intellectual assets of Astrakhan State University. The authors carried out field research to reveal career aspirations of intellectual assets of Astrakhan State University. According to the research, it has been stated that the prevailing motivating stimuli to the career development of intellectual assets of the Astrakhan state university are professional competence and integration of lifestyles.
