Abstract

Traditional medical system needs to be included within the framework of the state regulation of healthcare. This article is devoted to the study of the process of legalization of the Tibetan medicine in the healthcare system of India. The analysis of the main stages and the chronology of the process of sowa-rigpa legalization in India shows the necessity of institutionalization and professionalization of this medical system and the importance of academic study of its heritage with the aim of using its experience in contemporary Russian healthcare system.
