Abstract

The article substantiates the role of students' scientific research in higher education institutions as one of the conditions for becoming a person and forming a highly professional specialist of tourism and hospitality enterprises; tasks, principles and some aspects of organization of scientific research are considered. The concept of "student's professional and personal development" is clarified as a purposeful, conscious process of revealing and improving his own level of professional competence (knowledge, skills, personal qualities), which contributes to the success of the individual both in life and, in particular, in the profession. The basic organizational and pedagogical conditions, which observance of which will contribute to the formation of student-oriented continuous self-development, are clarified, among them: creation of educational environment with value attitude of all its participants towards self-education and self-improvement; example of scientific and pedagogical staff; creating an atmosphere of passion for the specialty. In order to attract students to scientific research, its planning and organization, the attention is paid to the importance of applying the principles of student-centeredness (orientation to the interests and motivation of students), differentiation, systematic, individual orientation, gradual process of involving students, but an exciting process. The proposed differentiated approach to the organization of scientific research of students provided for: the personality qualities study of each of them, interests, inclinations, level of self-awareness, social maturity, motivation, knowledge, skills, psychological characteristics, etc. Some innovative methods of attracting students to research work are proposed.
