Abstract
Linguo-culturological trend in the study of the Russian language, Russian phraseology and paroemiology is one of the most promising. The article examines the means to interpret the Russian paroemias against the background of their Chinese equivalents in the linguo-culturological aspect. The basic technique to identify the cultural connotation of paroemia, taking into account different cultural codes, is linguo-culturological commentary. Such commentary includes several stages: describing the meaning of the basic component of paroemia, discovering its figurativeness and axiological value.
