Abstract

The article provides an overview of books of local history that were published at the beginning of the 21stcentury. The authors of these books are residents or natives of Siberian Tatar settlements in Western Siberia. The main task of these publications is to preserve the collective historical and cultural memory of the population through the study of family history, respect for the traditions, holidays and folklore of the people, through the memories of old-timers. The books use archival documents, scientifc materials and the authors’ own research.
