Abstract

In this paper, utilization of digital drive control and AC current transformer type current detection methods for a power factor correction circuit was proposed, and the results were reported. The proposed circuit scheme presented was an adoption of bridgeless PFC circuit and implemented as digital control circuit using DSP for the flexibility adaption of this control circuit to the design environment. A 1kW class experimental circuit was designed and fabricated to verify the usefulness of this proposed control scheme. The experimental results showed a peak power conversion efficiency and power factor correction of 97.3 % and 99.7%, respectively. Moreover, experimental results showed that the performance of the alternating current transformer and the parallel control type digital control circuit are the same level of electrical characteristics compared to that obtained by the conventional analog control method.
