Abstract
Objective.To evaluate results of laser treatment of children with first type of retinopathy of prematurity. Material and methods. A retrospective analysis of the case histories of 311 children (operations were carried out in Kuzbass) with retinopathy of prematurity type 1 was carried out. Results. Of the 311 children, laser treatment was performed once in 250 (80.39 %), the rest (19.61 %) required repeated laser intervention. Retinal detachment developed in 26 children (8.26%) with posterior aggressive retinopathy of prematurity. Сonclusion. Surgical treatment of 311 children with an average birth weight of 916.06 g over 10 years and an average gestational age of 26.65 weeks was effective (induced regression was achieved) in 86.81 % of cases.
