Abstract

France, which produces a lot of excellent mathematicians, has not been introduced to Korea despite its long history of mathematics. This study compared the French secondary school mathematics content with the Korean curriculum and showed the Baccalaureate mathematics item and scoring system. The mathematics contents of middle and high school in France were the level of elementary school in Korea, indicating that the concept was introduced earlier in Korea than France. However, the content of high school in France contains a lot of high-level content than Korea, so it is possible to have a higher mathematical level than Korean students at the time of high school graduation. The Baccalaureate item example has several sub-items in one context, allowing students to connect their thinking to experience the problem-solving process.
