Abstract
This study identified the influence of body and appearance self-conscious emotions on competitive performance stress and dance confidence of art high school students majoring in dance. The participants of this study were 316 students majoring in dance at four arts high school in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Province. The collected data were analyzed with frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using the statistical program IBM SPSS Statistics Version 23.0. First, body and appearance self-conscious emotions had influenced on competitive performance stress significantly. Secondly, body and appearance self-conscious emotions had influenced on dance confidence significantly. Third, competitive performance stress had influenced on dance confidence significantly. Based on the above findings, the body and appearance self-conscious emotions had decided as important factor to decrease competitive performance stress and at the same time to increase the dance confidence of arts high school students majoring in Dance.
