Abstract
The article deals with the problem of spelling variability of lexical loan words in the Russian Internet communication. The blurring of boundaries between the computer terminology, professional jargon of IT specialists and general computer jargon is one of the reasons for the abundance of formal variants in this environment. The main features of the formal variability of the borrowed vocabulary are the unlimited number of variant set, the activity of graphic and spelling variation. The emphasis is made on the lexicographic aspect of this phenomenon.
