Abstract

The issues of evolution of methods for working with Earth remote sensing data for solving hydrometeorological and related problems are considered. A review of existing methods and technologies from the beginning of regular observations of the Earth from space to the present is given, the features of the current situation associated with a sharp increase in the volume of available data and a radical improvement in their quality are analyzed, and the basic requirements for today's technologies are formulated, without which the effective use of data is impossible. In conclusion, examples of the implementation of modern systems are considered, including the unified system for working with data “National Research Center “Planet”, based on the presented approaches and further trends in the development of systems for working with data and their organization into universal multi-level metasystems.
