Abstract

The article analyzes the existing approaches to calculation of structural strength: deterministic and statistical. The method of approaches allows us to study the change in mechanical characteristics, to determine the safety margin of the part, which depends on these characteristics. Both methods are quite extensive studies, and the processing of results has a number of conditional assumptions. It is established that these approaches do not allow to take into account to full extent the random nature of occurrence of a number of parameters of machines, mechanisms and their parts. It is proposed to improve the methodology for calculating structural elements for strength, using an integrated approach which takes into consideration the random distribution of initial data.
