Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between academic selfregulation and test anxiety of university students and to explore sex differences in academic selfregulation using descriptive and correlation method. 287 Al Azhar university students participated in the study ( 148 male and 139 female ). Academic self-regulation and test anxiety scales were administered to the sample of the study. Results showed statistically significant negative correlations between Academic self-regulation and test anxiety. Moreover, There were no statistically significant differences between male and female students in Academic self- regulation except environmental structuring and learning responsibility. In addition, learning responsibility, organization and goal setting were good predictors of test anxiety. Results of this study were discussed in terms of theoretical perspectives and previous literature. Recommendations and suggestions for future research were included.
