Abstract

The aim of our study is to identify the aesthetic dominants and traditions of historical narrative in the book of essays and the historical novel “Love in the Yaranga” by I. I. Vinokurov-Tagus. The scientific novelty lies in the introduction of the Evenk novelist’s work into the research field and the description of the artistic mode of national historical prose. The results of the study are formulated in the following theses: the book “Deer Paths to Diamond Deposits”, written in the genre of memoirs, was a prologue to the historical novel by I. I. Vinokurov-Tagus. The genre-typological features, main motives, typical characters are revealed in the novel “Love in the Yaranga”. The combination of realistic and romantic principles of representation in prose allowed I. I. Vinokurov-Tagus to raise the theme of national self-consciousness at a new level and continue the traditions of the historical prose of the peoples of the North.
