Abstract

The paper is devoted to the analysis of N. I. Vavilov’s contribution to the creation of VIR (N.I. Vavilov Research Institute of Plant Industry) collection of genetic resources of grain legumes that represent a group of plants applied as food, fodder, green manure, ornamental object and also for technical and pharmacological needs. genetic resources. As a direct collector N.I. Vavilov Vavilov gave to the collection 2189 accessions, brought from expeditions and obtained by the discharge.
