Abstract

In order to ensure the creation of a two-component nuclear power system based on VVER-type and fast neutron reactors (RBN), design and development work is being carried out to increase the competitiveness of RBN with sodium coolant. The paper presents the results of the development and application of multi-criteria decision analysis that combines promising approaches to a comprehensive assessment of technical, economic, resource, environmental, infrastructural and other indicators with a scenario-dynamic consideration of options for constructing a system of energy sources, and takes into account world practices of such assessments. The development potential of nuclear technologies based on fast neutron reactors with sodium coolant has been demonstrated to provide improved technical and economic characteristics, increase the level of safety, and ensure multipurpose use. The possibility of using the calculation and analytical approaches of multi-criteria analysis for a representative comparison of energy technologies and demonstration of the evolution of nuclear technologies is shown.
