Abstract

This study aimed at presenting work environment improvement plans for window bakery workers in Jeju by identifying the impact of work environment on worker satisfaction based on the sense of self-achievement of window bakery workers in Jeju. Research results are as follows. First, the work environment of window bakery workers in Jeju were tied into the five elements of personal environment, job environment, facility environment, welfare environment, and convenience environment. Second, upon examining the impact of work environment factors on worker satisfaction, it was found that personal environment, job environment and welfare environment had impact, and this showed that worker satisfaction can be improved by enhancing the personal environment such as interest in issues, cooperative relationship, job assistance, mutual respect, communication, and advice from bosses. Third, upon conducting regression analysis per stage for self-achievement for the influencing relationship of window bakery job environment and worker satisfaction, △R2 change increased from .444->.447 at .003 to .447->.523 at .076, and explanation power increased to 52.3% thus showing that there is an adjusting effect for self-achievement in the job environment and worker satisfaction of cooking workers at window bakeries.
