Abstract

Tashkent and Bukhara are one of the most attractive destinations of Uzbekistan in terms of welcoming hospitality, a range of unique medieval architecture, the lifestyle of locals, and the traditional Silk Road bazaars. Relatively limited research attention has attempted to determine the most important attributes among international tourists or what kinds of attributes have an impact on choosing or not choosing Uzbekistan as a travel destination. Therefore, the present study attempted to evaluate the destination attributes of Uzbekistan, specifically comparing Tashkent and Bukhara. The study helps highlight the up-to-date reflection of Uzbekistan from the perspective of international visitors. Through the literature review process, seven constructs including 35 measurement items were identified. The findings found destinations attributes for both cities to be moderately satisfactory. No attributes showed extreme outstanding or unacceptable qualities. The results indicated that the full potential of the Uzbek tourism industry is not yet being realized.
