Abstract

The article deals with international legal acts regulating the use of compulsory measures for the suppression of offenses by the staff of penitentiary institutions. Due to the dual branch identity international legal norms governing the use of force by prison staff is devoted to the differentiation of the sources of legislation into two groups: normative-legal acts of administrative-legal orientation, regulatory authority officers providing security and maintaining law and order in the application of coercive impact on citizens; the acts of the special penitentiary legislation regulating the use of weapons and other means against spetskontingent.
