Abstract

Industrial integration, based on the convergence and merger of enterprises, allows them to strengthen their competitive position in the market and achieve more significant economic results. The purpose of the article is to study the main characteristics of clusters as one of the modern forms of integration formations, their distinctive and similar features with other forms of economic associations. It is concluded that the purpose of their formation is the emergence of not only private effects, but also regional ones. That is why clusters are often viewed as a valid instrument of regional policy. In addition, unlike other forms of integration, the clusters of cooperation are accompanied by competition, which makes them a conductor of innovations in the regions.
