Abstract
In the context of tourism, the community is seen as one of many stakeholders, among which are the owners of tourism products, the government and tourism marketers. Understanding the perception and attitude of a particular community and how this perception is formed in relation to tourism development is important for decision makers. The knowledge and participation of the community in tourism issues often determine the success of the latter's development. A key element of effective tourism planning is the involvement of the local community and attention to its ideas, needs and aspirations. The modern world, characterized by network agencies, global flows and movement of people within countries and abroad, actualizes the tourist context in many ways. Tourism is one of the main sectors of international trade and wealth creators for many developing countries. This sector means new jobs, gender equality, protection and promotion of natural and cultural heritage. The tourism industry is the world's largest industry, promising huge economic benefits to many countries.
