Abstract

The purpose of the article is to determine the directions of organizational work to improve the methods of eff ective preparation of gifted children to participate in mathematical competitions at all levels from the position of a competence-based approach to learning. The study examined the shortcomings of the Olympiad, identifi ed organizational and pedagogical approaches to conducting all stages of the Olympiad, identifi ed functions and formulated practical recommendations for organizing the Olympiad of schoolchildren in mathematics in the educational system of Kyrgyzstan. During the study, the author concludes that a comprehensive solution to the problem of preparing schoolchildren to participate in competitions, including the timely diagnosis of the mathematical talent of students and the continuous improvement of methods of working with students will provide an opportunity to achieve high results in mathematics competitions.
