Abstract

The Chapters of ‘Azmakudari’ of 『Ise Monogatari』 develops a story of a man who left Kyoto and drifts in places. Especially in ‘Musasi’, the man meets a local lady and gets married to her, settling in the area. He exchanges Waka with the lady in Kyoto who is jealous about his relationship in Musasi. However, it is found that the structure and material of storytelling are similar with the story that the god of ‘Yachihoko’ in 『Kojiki』 district visits ‘koshi’ area and exchanges songs with ‘Nunakawahime’. In addition, songs exchanged between ‘Suseribime’ who blames her husband ‘Yachihoko’ who has wives in each visiting area and her husband include the structure and material of storytelling that is assumed to accept as the Chapters related of ‘Azmakudari’ of 『Ise Monogatari』 . Fundamentally, the absence and love affairs of ‘Yachihoko’ implicates ‘expansion of power’ continued from ‘making country’ of ‘ohkuninushi’, but in 『Ise Monogatari』 , this is adopted while the story is revised and reproduced into the contents that the man who left Kyoto by the thoughts of period in the Heian period eventually returns to the hometown.
