Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the utilization and improvement plans of teaching and learning materials for students with severe multiple disabilities. Focus group interviews were conducted with 12 participants who had experience in developing teaching and learning materials and using teaching and learning materials for students with severe and multiple disabilities. As a result of the analysis, using the qualitative analysis method, the following 3 themes and 11 subthemes were identified. (1) the utilization of teaching and learning materials for students with severe and multiple disabilities; (2) difficulty in using teaching and learning materials for students with severe and multiple disabilities; (3) improvement plans in teaching and learning materials for students with severe and multiple disabilities. This study is to identify the actual conditions and demands for the use of teaching and learning materials for students with severe and multiple disabilities. This is based on the actual conditions of use in the field of education, which are delivered by educational experts related to severe and multiple disabilities. It is significant in that it has presented the direction of teaching and learning materials that need to be improved.
