Abstract

The study results of the possibility of using cryolite as a flux-hardening additive are presented and the mechanism of formation of cryolite-alumina melt with the participation of aluminum oxide in the composition of low-plastic clay during firing is considered. The influence of the resulting melt on the formation of the ceramics structure and its basic physical-mechanical properties is shown.
