A new site of fossil mammals was discovered on the territory of Ust-Abakan district of the Khakass Republic, near the village Mokhovo (54°56’ N, 89°46’ E). The Mokhovo site is related to deposits of the Bija river. 5 species of large mammals were identified in the site: Bison priscus, Equus sp., Cervus elaphus, Saiga sp. и Capreolus capreolus. The finding of saiga and bison bones indicates the Late Pleistocene age of this site. The remains of an indeterminate small horse were also found.
