Abstract

The aim of the study is to reveal the features of organizing and holding a literary quiz as a form of involving students in extracurricular activities at a technical university. The paper presents various types of tasks that were created by the authors for the described events aimed at the development of students’ reading activity. Furthermore, the results of surveys of participants in the quizzes are analyzed in order to obtain feedback, which allows the researchers to determine the degree of effectiveness of these events and compare the results obtained with the tasks set by the organizers. The scientific novelty of the study consists in identifying the criteria for the elaboration of tasks and the organization of a literary quiz at a technical university, as well as in describing the experience of holding a literary quiz. As a result, it has been determined that this form of extracurricular activities is productive in terms of developing skills of working with the text.
