Abstract

This paper presents the results of studies on the automation of the processing of measurements of Brillouin reflectograms containing various types of single-mode optical fibers. By analyzing the Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering parameters, it is possible to distinguish the varieties of optical fibers in the studied optical cables, as well as to estimate the change in Brillouin frequency shift and determine the degree of longitudinal tension. The initial values of the Brillouin frequency shift and the Mandelstam-Brillouin scattering spectrum for each type of optical fiber differ. Developed programs for processing Blilluen reflectograms are presented. Conclusions were made about the accuracy of estimates obtained according to various algorithms, based on the accumulated experience in working with the presented programs.
